Dec 2011, MacBook 2.4 replaces 1.83

In December 2011, I lost my favorite electronic companion to heat exhaustion.  Logic board, I expect, starts up, blank screen - gone, gone, gone... First of the new MacBooks, Aug, 2006 - MacBook 1.83 - 512x2 memory, wo/SuperDrive.  AppleCare replaced: two sets of charger/batteries; cases and a logic board. I went through a few HD's, the last & now current is a SATA 250GB (7200RPM) from Newegg.

The MacBook 2.4 looks good, clean - screen and body, a nice improvement - Mac OSX 10.6.8.

It seems the memory was bad in the 2.4.  It worked fine until I removed it and reinstalled.  Three beeps and no start up.  Memory does get old, and heats up - not a real problem.  OWC is a trusted source.  I replaced the memory with 1GBx2 OWC memory that was in my old MacBook 1.83.  I sent OWC a note, just to report it - as I plan to buy the (reasonable max of 4GB) from OWC, soon.

Apple MacBook White 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo 2GB Mem-160GB HD-SprDrive-Aiport Wireless $439.99 at OWC http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/bargains/ - $5 off for using Amazon to process the order which included free shipping - total being $434.99.

Should be old hat in a week's time

T'Pol eyed her own board, but said, "Perhaps you'd like to go to your quarters and lie down."

Hoshi cast a provoked glance. "ponfo mirann," she said. Vulcan for "butt out"?

Archer watched the women.  They were, more or less, a microcosm of the whole crew and all his problems.

"I was instructed," T'Pol responded, "to speak English during the mission.  I'd appreciate your respecting that."

Archer interrupted,  "It's easy to get a little jumpy when you're traveling at thirty million kilometers a second.  Should be old hat in a week's time."
